What is a Gap Program?

A Gap Program with Shecana is for graduated students ages 17 to 25 years old. Right after high school you can choose to take an extra 3, 5 or 10 months and go on a high school exchange or you can choose a gap program. With Shecana’s gap programs you can travel to England, Germany, Brazil or New Zealand.

Our gap-year programs are designed for high school grads who want to see the world as they take a break before entering post secondary education or a career. You can decide if you want to work or do a cultural experience. [The minimum age for work programs is 18 years.]With Shecana you have the option of a short stay or an extended period (3 weeks up to 2 years). A gap-year program allows you to enter a prearranged situation with support throughout your stay, and gives you the freedom to travel and live independently. A gap-year program will give you the opportunity to have new experiences, develop your life skills, broaden your horizons, become an experienced traveler, learn about other countries and cultures, make new friends and have an amazing adventure!

Join us for an online meeting, which will provide you with information on what a gap year could be like. And Shecana is with you all the way - before, during and after your time abroad. Welcome!
